I find that its actually the opposite. Older persons want the government to take care of them. The youths around here want to not be bogged down with taxes and regulations/ government competition. Especially considering the biotech industries taking root here.

It would have been an awesome TV moment. It just amazes me how much of a disconnect with the average person politicians wind up with. I'll give Bush that much at least, he knew how to play up the "I'm one of you" angle in non-scripted moments better than most presidential candidates. And it worked for him.

While the empty suit is either too shallow or too deceitful to go on record with a vote, is amazingly naive in foreign affairs (piddle pants II) and seemingly cannot think on his feet, if we are to be saddled with a liberal loon in the White House, better he than that mendacious, shrewish, bitchy, pathological liar. Perhaps people in FL & MI wished to express an opinion even if their votes didn't count. Perhaps some of these were protest votes against the state party nabobs or the dnc . . . but there were no exit polls to determine their motivations. But there was no question about their votes counting. For her to demand them now is not to represent those people but for her personal gain. She only cares about herself.
