just remember the people making your fast food, and checking you out in line at a store. They make minimum wage, but they didnt do, what they do, wouldnt you all have a hard time? (i know, some of them arent very bright) but to the few that are, i commend you
What exactly is a masters degree in Canada? Is it something like an American PhD (which is *seriously* watered down as compared to a European/Asian PhD)?It sounds like a Canadian 'Masters' is a Rest-of-the-World Bachelors degree, just like an American PhD is a Rest-of-the-World Masters. It's no wonder every clown in the USA seems to have a PhD. I lost pretty much *all* respect for Google once I realised that basically no-one there had an *actual* PhD, just a bunch of trumped-up coursework Masters with the research option!
My last job I made about 105K (Computer Security for a defense contractor), I'm going for about 110K base plus bonuses as a Director of Web Development at a startup here in DC. I know a guy or two that make more, but they've been at the same company for ages.
As someone who dated a newly minted dentist, I can assure you that NO ONE in her graduating class was making anywhere near 250. You are in the ballpark with 90.
I am a community based social worker for a large hospital. I have two bachelor degrees in psychology and philosophy from a private, respected university. I started another in Biology, but haven't finished. I earn $25,000/year. I am held to an 80% productivity standard, meaning that 80% of my time must be billed, I bill at over $100/hour. I do all of my own billing, appointment making, and outrecah in the community, and have basically no support staff. The thing that is most depressing is that I actually have an IMPORTANT job, and perform a vital service to the city in which I live. I enjoy the responsibility and the fact that i make a serious impact on peoples lives in a very dirct and clinical manner, everyday...more than any psychiatrist I have ever wroked with or heard of. this is the way that the wold works. If you are willing to accept it, then you will get s**t on.
I think loan officers and loan originators make way more. These guys make about 1-200000.00 per year don't take it from me check out www.loanpinion.com
how are u able to get $10/hr with a master in computer, i am still a BS student in canada and i am making $24/hr as computer programmer, friends who graduated all at least get $60k per year as starting
I would have to disagree that most attorneys are highly paid. I think the salary that you have found is severly flawed because those salaries are for the people that went to the Ivy Leagues law school and had good connections either meeting connections through school or through parents or friend connections. But generally most law graduates struggle their first year's (5 to 10 yrs) and if you look ie on Craigslist etc most require significant experience and so many recent law grad students become paralegals to get their feet in the doors. But even to get into a paralegal position I think recent law grads struggle because paralegal positions are for paralegals. So starting attorneys make around $35,000 to around $70,000 not to mention the school loans they have to pay back + rent, obvisouly food etc that does not leave much of any money left over. With all your bills rent food clothes etc by the time those are all paid your probably have around $30,000 is all. Also the career in Dentistry like a general practice dentist right out of school they don't make a lot of money either like people make it sound. People make the medical and law fields sound like they make so much $$ right out of school. I would totally disagree with that statement especially because employers want to see EXPERIENCE!!! I have seen ads and have talked to entry level dentists in the general practice they come out of school with an enormous amount of debt in the neighborhood of minimum of $300,000 plus as a case in my counsin that is just going to be a general dentist he had to go back to undergrad to finish courses because he graduated with another degree and had to finish science courses. Anyways then she/he has that school loan to pay as well. General practice dentists that come out of school most practice under another dentist usually one that will obvisouly retire and they pay like around $30,000 up to like $70,000 and once a general practice dentist owns his own practice after several like 5, 10 or 15 yrs make like $110,000 up to like $200,000. But to start out making like even if it is like $70,000 - you enormous school loan debt, rent, food, phone bills, tv bills and all your other bills by that all said and done will make what a person with just a bachelors degree is making in thier entry level jobs.Personally I don't think it's really worth all the expense and time it takes to get there. I think a bachelors degree is totally acceptable and if you look at all the expense put into dental and law school etc in the long run they will esentally be retiring around the same age as a person with a bachelors degree with a tad more money but not that much more money due to all the expense it takes and the more the rich make they will get taxed to the HILT!! Those positions look all glamorise and all but once a person puts a pen to it and figure it out they really dont make that much unless like I said you a fornuate one which many are not that go to the ivy leagues and know the connections. So all said and done I disagree that law school and or medical is all cracked as people make it sound.

nightowl512: The reason it was left out is because, as many people before have stated, this list is inaccurate.
