Well this is just not true. A friend of mine has quit 12 years ago, and she says that this will not happen after some years. I must however admit from my own exp. that the first year is hard when it comes to stress weeks, crises, etc. My quitting record still sits at a feeble 11 months in my 13 year smoking life. Right now I am 1.5 months underway to break that record. I won't be easy.
You are right. My main objection to cigarettes is that they don't kill smokers fast enough. If people actually ingested the nicotine in a pack of 20 it would drop them like a bullet, and I wouldn't have to breathe their suffocating stink.
Aside from the joke timelines, I believe this is wrong.I'm not sure on this one, but I think nicotine takes longer to metabolize. What I AM SURE OF is that often, damage caused to the epithelium of the respiratory tract by smoking is, in fact, IRREVERSIBLE.
I only smoke when I drink but when I drink I chain smoke. So my body is constantly going through these short term couple day benefits before getting right back on the nicotine train.
Hey I'm just glad I quit. I smoked for 10 yrs and have been clean for 15 days. Im doing well so far. I used to smoke when I was bored, stressed, or out drinking. I haven't been out with the girls in a while, I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I continue to be a nonsmoker when I go out with the girls! As for the boredemness and stress I doubt that will ever go away so my new addiction is jolly ranchers. LOL

Then I think it's about time to hop to the other side of legal drugs.

Hey I took Chantix and it helped me quit! I was skeptical about taking it but it helped me quit. I've been 15 days smoke free!
