youtube.com — Four things about the iPhone that you probably overlooked from Steve Job's MacWorld keynote. They include what the calendar application looks like, how you'll view traffic in Google Maps, another way to scroll through long lists and how ringtones may ultimately work.

@ spyyderHow is it that I am able to put any AAC or MP3 onto my blackberry pearl and use that as a ringtone?P.S. Don't be such a dick. Thanks.

I agree with you foxy, but how about some music cropping integration? I mean, what about some integration in iTunes or even the iPhone itself, allowing you to "crop" an MP3, (or basically give a start and end time) which uses that segment as a ringtone? That wont be hard to do, and I think we would all prefer that.

I imagine if they don't let you use your music for ringtones, somebody will make a hack to do just that. I wouldn't mind if they gave the OPTION to add ringtones (and sold them on iTunes), but they better let you use your own music too. I wondered if they might only allow previously purchased songs from iTunes as ringtones and not DRM-free mp3s.One cool thing about the possibility of using your own DRM-free songs is that you could create ringtones (say...via garage band). I mean custom little jingle type ringtones, not full-fledged songs.

"What? Why would you do that when you can import it?"That was my point.

This STILL has to be the most in-depth nerdy loser-ific video I have ever seen.

I wouldn't mind them selling ringtones in addition to being able to use normal songs, but you should be able to use both. There could be some neat ringtones that are specifically ringtones (shorter, more useful soundwise to get your attention etc)
