gizmodo.com — Dear Microsoft, you did a good job at out-Appling Apple with the Windows Phone 7. At least on paper. But instead of trying to beat them completely, it seems that you want to screw it all with two stupid decisions.

Update: We just super-double-ultra-plus-confirmed this with Microsoft -- Windows Phone 7 Series will not have copy and paste functionality... Microsoft says most users, including Office users, don't really need clipboard functionality. We... respectfully disagree .. "

mrBitch you need to consider the demographic, Android apeals to more tech savy crowd who understand task killing and want to kill unused tasks to get the most speed out of their phone. My girlfriend also has an android phone (Samsung galaxy) and it works just fine without ever using a task killer.

I'll never understand fanboys. Microsoft and Apple both make some pretty stellar stuff. I use Windows 7 and love the s**t out of it. But I also own an iPod and a Droid-based smartphone. I'll probably never use an Apple OS on a computer because I'm not used to it and I generally like the feel of Windows better, but I don't HATE Apple because of it. Just like I'll probably always use an iPod over a Zune because to me it's the better platform for THAT. Why are we supposed to choose one company for ALL of our digital needs? /rant

Who cares. They apply to WebOS. And guess what? We have all that, and a lot more. On an open platform. With a homebrew community that Palm *SUPPORTS* rather than shuns. f**k apple and f**k microsoft. Droid? Meh. Lots of people that were pushed into buying a droid by the verizon sales folks are now coming over to WebOS.

@ brainflakes, RE: " .. mrBitch you need to consider the demographic, Android apeals to more tech savy crowd who understand task killing and want to kill unused tasks to get the most speed out of their phone."Good point, but why exactly should a consumer electronics manufacturer target a device only for the tech savvy crowd?

I don't see that this is validating a good idea; you can multitask and cut/paste on Android phones without issue.
