theappleblog.com— Finally, someone adequately describes just how useless and frustrating the green button in all of OSX's windows is!

You know, when people bitch and moan about Apple fanboys, I almost understand it sometimes. You see 400 entries about how Steve Jobs is amazing with condescending messages towards the general Windows populace to boot and it's all a little suffocating. In this thread? Not in the least. They're pointing out a flaw in OSX and yet you still bitch. Please, die. This was written on my MacBook Pro with a Mighty Mouse, two-button and sensor controlled.
I would like that. Especially the maximize button to go the maximum size and no larger, no smaller, and clicking it again will restore it to what you previously had it, or the default size. Maybe the zoom button could work the way this guy describes it and pressing it again will return to default size.
I bitched about it when I bought a MacBook. Perhaps if they replaced the + symbol with a O symbol it wouldn't have confused me. I really thought it was a maximise button until my friend that works at the Apple store explained it was more like an optimize button. Now I'm cool with it.
There's no reason to fix the green button. Some people like it. And it might be useful in some cases. What I want is an additional (blue?) button. One which will consistently maximize the window.

Nope. Just tried with three different applications, too.

but as the green button works fine this is not a flaw. certain apps are idiosyncratic, but that's not a flaw in OSX is it? i love the green button.
