tvfilter.spaces.live.com — How they managed to keep this quiet is a shocker itself, but NBC execs will announce today at their annual upfront presentation in New York that they've been developing "Heroes: Origins," a spin-off series of this season's breakout hit that will, at least temporarily, replace "Heroes" on NBC's Monday night schedule.

You fail, the series will have NEW characters.(I believe it's already been stated that Hiro is certain to be in the next season)

The quality of the first series will suffer as the top talent will be split between shows. It is inevitable. One of the things that makes HEROES unique is that is is continually breaking its own formulas. If the show gets doubled up, expect it to become more and more formulaic, simply because the writers can't keep creating that level of originality at that pace indefinitely. It's also WAY too soon for a spinoff. We're only completing the first season's sub-arc over the next couple of weeks...eesh!

I understood it that viewers would be able to vote on their favorite hero, wasn't it going to be that they would introduce a new character every week?
darthwarlokMay 17, 2007
I wouldn't like that because my computer sucks...

THEN DONT READ STORIES ABOUT HEROES AND PUT COMMENTS SO THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO READ YOUR CLOSE-MINDED VIEWS!!

The spin-off will most likely be about the linderman corporation and how they tried to change the world.

The best part about Heroes, at least for me, is how interactive the series is with their website. There is so much additional content for hardcore fans, yet the show itself is enough to keep the average fans happy. I think the series is just another way of getting a steady dose of Heroes during the summer, while at the same time, NBC can milk it as much as it can.
