wired.com — Millions of viewers of NBC's Heroes know actor Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, the bored young Japanese office worker who discovers he has the power to alter time and teleport. What they probably don't know is that he's been working behind the scenes for years as one of Industrial Light & Magic's top programmers.

This story came through digg a week ago (twice, actually). I was surprised it never hit the front page because it's a cool story.Good to see it make it this time.

Don't you mean "He's my Hiro!"

So, first he worked on special effects for Industrial Light & Magic. Now, he gets to play a superhero on TV. Luck bastard. That's like every geek's dream.

Slow? That's just ridiculous.Something of plot moving significance happens in every episode of Heroes. They started in the middle of the story and it's 5 episodes in and they have almost all met each other.

I personally think that the show is better because of that. I am an adult and don't like adult shows that have been sanitized for children or sheltered adults. If you want to watch something with your kids turn on Nickelodeon. Its on at 9 for a reason.

I love Heroes, I work when they air it, but NBC has the full episode everyweek on their site!

You are right about it being over dramatic and soap opera-ish. I did a double take when the article described it as "an ensemble cast that features solid acting all around."I know I am alone on this, on digg and amongst all my friends, but I think the show is garbage. It is pure cheese.(The scene where he jumped off the building was so badly done.... the acting and the special effects were horrible. Not only that, but it was really the defining scene for the show)

Truly the best character on the show. Superhiro. I will definately follow his carreer. It is truly talented how he does not over-act the character, which is and extravagant nerdy personality with huge expressions.

"and thats why heroes is on at 9 and not at 8. put your nose back into your bible where they don't have strippers and dead people. well strippers at least"Have you ever read the bible? It's chock full o' incest, rape, murder, prostitution, fratricide, patricide, infanticide, leprosy...Heroes is pretty tame by comparison.
