I'm sure that if the books have DRM, there is already a crack to remove it.And in my opinion, removing DRM from something that you paid for is not wrong.
What does a regular book look like when you turn out the lights? And trying to read a backlit page in the dark would be like looking into a flashlight. So you would be bookless in either case.
Screen formatting is a very important issue. I need to have the equivalent to a full page in order to keep my reading speed up. If I have to "turn" pages too often, it slows me down as well as interfering with the reading experience. I think that as we get used to holding and reading from ebook readers, it will become the normal experience. Holding a book is a familiar experience, but I also remember how I felt when I went from command line interface to using a mouse. It felt very unnatural. Why use a mouse when I could do everything I needed just by entering commands at the C: prompt? Now, if my mouse stops working, I just stare at the monitor. After all, the original format was scrolls. I imagine the first people to switch from scrolls to the format we have now also grumbled a bit.
