telegraph.co.uk— A suicidal man connected to a Samaritans-style helpline in Sweden was left pondering his options when the priest at the other end fell asleep and started snoring down the line.

I don't like to rush to judgment, as a rule. Yeah, this could just be a s**tty priest, or maybe he tried to stay awake beyond what was physically possible for him because he didn't want to leave the phone unattended./at least he wasn't f**king kids
Actually, I volunteer at a suicide hotline that is staffed entirely by laypeople. We are, of course, trained to offer befriending services to people in crisis, but we are by no means mental health professionals. For this reason, you would never be referred to us by emergency services. In the US, someone calling 911 saying that they're suicidal will be provided care by state certified health professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, or nurses.

Oh man, he better be narcoleptic, otherwise that is terrible.

The Church of Sweden isn't a Catholic church...

Hey... it worked. The priest gave him something to live for. He just had to go on so that he could complain about this to the internets.

How stupid must a person be to post what you just said?

I wonder what it says about Digg that this is probably the most reasonable comment in this thread.

So it was anger that kept him alive. Hmmm.

If you bury them with the ass sticking out of the ground, you can use it as a bike rack.

Wouldn't it be more time efficient to just hang up on them, in that case?
