Contrary to what people might instinctively think, it's actually not a trap. The code is for Hyper-V integration, and it was contributed under GPL v2 (as noted in TFA), so it's perfectly safe.

MS has become surprisingly open, and I'll take it as a few steps in the right direction. Here's to hoping that it's a sign of cooperation coming out of Redmond. But remaining careful to be completely trusting.
