reuters.com — Long-term heavy use of marijuana may cause two important brain structures to shrink, Australian researchers said on Monday. Brain scans showed the hippocampus and amygdala were smaller in men who were heavy marijuana users compared to nonusers, the researchers said. The men had smoked at least five marijuana cigarettes daily...

I give up, do you even read any of the comments?"You're the one who brought up murder as proof that freedom is overrated, murder is a crime that always carries a victim. Smoking pot is a victimless crime, as the person committing the crime can do so without any harm to anyone but himself."Niko said this is a free country, you said it's not free because no one is free to murder as they please. Niko's argument was that we should be free to do what we want as long as we don't hurt anyone. He's not backtracking, his argument is not even based on the fact that the US is a free country, you're the troll feeding on that. Once again, dumb straw man."Show us all those "studies" where pot can "hurt" more than any other drug, including legal drugs (alcohol as a perfect example).""No one's arguing that pot is 100% harmless, the argument is that there are drugs out there that are much more damaging than pot, but they remain legal while we spend billions of dollars criminalizing a drug so that people like you (IDIOTS) can be "safer" from pot."AGAIN, NO ONE'S ARGUING THAT POT'S 100% HARMLESS, BUT STUDIES HAVE FOUND THAT POT IS EVEN LESS HARMFUL THAN ALCOHOL.Go get an education.

Apparently, the only thing here that's typical is the sheepish remark that's it's OK to believe anything and everything government tells you. Hey, it's the government, it must be true. Can you not even question why an article like this gets released about 1-2 weeks after an in-depth study was released debunking decades old propaganda that has been shaping social and moral values, and ultimately laws? There is no doubt that there are drugs that need to be eliminated because they kill people. It's my opinion that pot is not one of them. Hell, wasn't it not that long ago that the UK reclassified pot as a class C drug and hence a non-arrestable offense in smaller, "personal" stash sizes? Sorry about your mates but truly they must have had many other issues without getting smoked up. I'm not sure if you believe in polls, but I feel confident that if a poll were taken among pot users, the overwhelming majority would tell you that they have never overdosed on pot, felt violent or felt an uncontrollable urge to punch someone, rob anyone, or flail about like a fish on a hot pier while catching a buzz. That being said, there are always those that abuse everything. We have to keep things in perspective. How can we say cigs and liquor are OK but pot is taboo?P.S. - I'm not a pot smoker.

How can I respect your opinion when you know nothing of this topic? Its like a guy who has only used PC's their whole life, and tell you that Mac computers suck.
