Its sad to see the art of the written word being taken over by the internet...understand the ideology but call me old fashion, I still like holding the paper when I get my news in the morning. Besides, they make great wrapping paper.

I absolutely agree- theres nothing better than holding a paper or a good book (esp.library ones).However- as sad as it is, I look at printed publications like this: If someone asked you, do you want your information 30 days from now (in a magazine), or immediately available online- which would you choose?

Most monthly publications certainly aren't published for breaking news. They're for in-depth articles that go deeper into current topics, or stories about entertainment and more substantial pieces that you wouldn't find in a newspaper or weekly.Take a publication like Vanity Fair...you don't really 'wait' for articles in that magazine but they have some of the best writing in terms of entertainment and expose. The battle of print vs. online isn't over by a longshot. Newspapers will die but magazines will survive so long as they keep amazing stories and writers in their stables. The rest will go the way of newspapers.

Presentation vs. Content. I love the way magazines are laid out... even digitally.I'd rather read this: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/newbay/vdy_200910/ ...vs. the same article on their blog: http://www.videography.com/article/88484Put the digital version on a tablet... and I'd subscribe.

This month it is is becoming as popular for newspapers to go digital as it is for blogs to write inane articles about a tablet from Apple based on no concrete facts.1. Convert news publication from physical to non-pysical medium.2. Write about non-existant products.3. ???4. Profit!
