Could it be that maybe this syndrome is the proof we need of Parallel Universe/Multiverse theory.....you know, that everything is happening everywhere all at once, but we only recognize only this one reality that we are in now.... for every thought, you create a new universe of what ifs and what may be's...... that you said no when you meant to say yes (in another universe you said yes instead of no, in another you walked away, in another you were shot at random, in another a piano being lifted by hoist above you fell on you and killed you, etc etc etc).I get this sensation sometimes on my left front thigh when I am driving,.....but my cellphone is sitting in a small cellphone holder in my truck, not touching me..... if I am carrying it, I ususally carry my cellphone in my right front jeans pocket (sometimes my left, but not usually.) Maybe in another multiverse, I am carrying the phone in my left front jeans pocket when I feel the 'phantom vibrate' and it vibrates due to a call in that universe....and maybe I am feeling the result of the energy of that ring at that same time.....just my food for thought...
i get phantom rings though. i'll be in a quiet place or listening to music and i think i can pick our my ringtone faitly. i check my phone but nobody has called. but i guess everybody thinks they hear something from any situation.

@dseverenukI also attributed the vibration to gas. I even asked a doctor about it. I was _this_ close to getting a colonoscopy.
