Yes sometimes the truth isn't so elaborate. Also it helps if you actually read the article, because you would have read there was no autopsy performed. So there's no way you or I can know for sure that's what killed him.

I highly recommend the new biography, "The Secret Life of Houdini".It is by no means certain that Houdini was murdered, but it's also not so bizarre an idea when you realize how it happened and the context in which it happened.
