It would be cool if they could make a volcano reactor that helped alleviate volcano pressure, u know, so that it doesn't erupt. But I wouldn't want to be the guy to pop one of those zits.

Here in Hawaii there was a geothermal push about 15 years ago. Environmentalists (yes you read that correct), retired hippies, and portions of the Hawaiian Sovereignty movement objected for various reasons of varying validity.
