usatoday.com — From the article: "Guitar Hero was just the opening act. MTV and the developers of that video game have a headliner in the works called Rock Band, which lets four music lovers gig together in person or online."

Those who want to learn guitar will learn guitar, and it won't be because they were guilt-tripped into thinking they're spending too much time on Guitar Hero.

Ok, I love video games, but this is getting ridiculous. I play video games because you do s**t in them you can't possibly or legaly do in actuality. Like shooting aliens, kung fu fighting a ninja, or breaking into a high security area and avoiding detection. Playing in a makeshift band is something you CAN do. Just like this cooking game thats coming out for the wii... for f**k sake why in the hell do you want to play a video game where you cook? Go to the stove, make a f**king egg and call it a day. Next, they're going to make game where you wake up at 6:30 in the morning, go to work, sit behind a computer, and look over your shoulder when you're browsing the internet. Then if you're able to pay your bills at the end of the week you go to round two, wow what fun!

They never said anything about keyboard. All I read was lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and microphone

Presumably you'd only need at least one of the instruments involved. But I'm always open to adding to my collection.

Why do people think that people who play guitar don;t play guitar hero?

"We'll be covering a great breadth, from metal to classic rock to Southern rock to everything in between" Now that's my kind of range! Dunno 'bout this 'in-between', though.
