tuaw.com — It's hard to believe that six years ago to this very day, the iPod was officially brought into the world at a Steve Jobs Special Event. In six years, we've seen 1,000 songs in your pocket become ever more affordable, and as hard-disk technology has progressed, so too has the number of songs an iPod can hold.

It's not a monopoly like Windows, though. How many different types of music players do people you know have? Only half to a quarter of people I see with portable media players have iPods... And there are very large selections at most retailers. On the other hand, how many people do you know who run Linux or Mac OS? How many operating systems can you see at most computer shops, department stores etc.? For the most part, it's only Windows, sometimes with some Apple computers.

Rarely can someone save themselves from a double-post, but you almost pulled it off. Very well done!

Ok, I`ve heard that line a lot, that the 3rd gen iPodis the best ever. Can you please explain why is it better than, say, 6th gen 80 gb? The only thing I can think of is maybe a longer battery life.
