chaosncoffee.com — believe it or not, today we had the first (afaik) case of a man (happens to be also a blogger) threatened for supporting a BarCamp. You see, he proposed the Bicocca University in Milan (where he teaches) as a venue for the camp, and received this nice email in return...

BarCamp has always had a latent political aspect. Openness and participation is risky in a proprietary and closed world, even threatening. This story really makes that very very clear. DUGG!

I read the article and still have absolutely no f**king clue what the hell "BarCamp" is all about. Is it summer camp for bartenders?

Thank you unclecrapper, I added a link to the BarCamp website. Anyway, the short description is:"A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants."

Someone doesn't like bloggers too much. Like Mark said, I think all of this citizen media, barcamp, etc. stuff is too darn democratic for some. :)
