news.vgchartz.com— Reach will be our last Halo game. We are currently working on a new IP but obviously can't reveal anything at this stage. Reach is it for us.

@Konrad9The mysterious ?343 Industries? has revealed that they are, in fact, a division of Microsoft. The groups job is not to develop Halo games, but to oversee everything Halo: books, toys, games, anime, etc.
They're not entitled to give you anything new for free. Not to mention, there are plenty of playlists that don't require DLC, or only require the freely available DLC. There's also always Custom Games.DLC costs money, everyone just needs to get over it. When you bought the $60 game, you agreed that the current content was worth $60. More content begets more payment.
Bungie's always valued rapport with and loyalty to their customers, both past and present. Where they were (mostly) Mac-only before, and PC/Xbox-only during their MS days, I fully expect that they'll be on both platforms with this new IP.@ShingoEXThe original Metal Gear Solid was for the PS1, not Xbox. If you wanna go way back, Metal Gear itself was for the Phillips MSX2, and later for the NES.
Considering MS paid for Halo's production, I say it's pretty fair that they get to keep it. In return, Bungie gets to add "Designers behind the Halo series" to their resumé.
What's wrong about complaining about having to pay more money for a service you paid for already? I paid for my first two sets of DLC maps and what did I get? Bungie ended up giving them away for free a few months later. Now I can't play the matchtypes I want because I find it annoying and a waste of money to pay for s**t Bungie is eventually going to give away. Not only that, I wasn't thrilled that much by some of the maps they did release. So why should I pay for a product I don't like? Furthermore its even s**ttier that I have to pay more money over time for stuff I don't like just to play match types that came standard with the game when it came out two years ago. If you like this system then by all means keep it, I on the other hand think its s**te and they've lost my patronage. To each their own.....
There probably will be more Halo games, but Bungie won't be making them. Bungie didn't make Halo Wars, I think Ensemble did. I heard that Reach will be the last Halo game that Bungie is going to make. But they're probably going to make more DLC for Reach when it comes out.

There is a small group working on a real tribes game. Believe they are using the UT2003 engine.
