xboxic.com— Lots of rumors straight from Game Informer magazine supposedly, saying "Forerunner" is currently the name of the project instead of "Halo 3", and lots of gameplay details unveiled.

Come on, there was a lot of hype and bulls**t before Halo 2, and Bungie still made money off it. It's just hype. Hype shows that it has a following, even if its just people following to make up a bunch of rumors. Halo is recognizable anywhere, for good or bad, and it will be for a long time to come. It doesn't matter how lame you might think it is, chances are you'll go out and buy it all the same to "see if it sucks", and Microsoft and Bungie end up with your money.
Ahhh yes I would so love to see this link Myth + oni + halo (pushing it). Any who I like the idea for a persistant universe and I would really hope to see a epic battle (like Lord of The Rings:helms deep) all you ever see in the halo games is like 10 ships and lights flying at each other. It would be nice since the game does talk about the covenet haveing a HUGE fleet (this is said in all the halo books) but you never get too see it but for 10 sec in halo 2 and you never see a space battle either. I guess thats not bungies style, either way I hope they do go deeper into the story of halo then the online multyplayer (which sucks in halo 2 btw). Halo 2 takes no skill and most people laugh at me when I say that but its true it takes nothing to kill someone out of a vehical with a rocket launcher in halo 2. Where as in halo 1 it took SKILL to actualy take out a vehical. I hated when I found out how nerfed the pistol was and how little ammo it held (46 rounds per gun) 3 clips of ammo? With dual pistols you can use all of that ammo and only get 2 kills. Same with almost all human guns.
Halo 2 was in some ways a step forward and in some ways a tottal f**k off compared to the first game. Mucking with the HUD and the shotgun physics are two nearly unforgivable sins.
Dude. Pay attention to the game guys, the Forrunner are humans. It links, the ark was the way humans survived. I read a Bungie article that said that humans and the Elites and whatnot are decendants of the Forrunner.
