No, she isn't. Also, "you're" and "too". Have a nice day!

You're absolutely correct... the president of Ireland is a figurehead title, she has very little political power. Bertie Ahern is our Taoiseach (prime minister), he has the majority of the power.

Men and Women have Distinct and Different Priorities in Life.

Oh, so women are incapable. I see. I would love to see who raised you. Well, it would be nice if anyone within this topic or thread took the time to research any of these arguments. Why don't you try and read a few articles first. I'm sure you'd love Francis Fukuyama's "Why Women Can't Run the World". But try and actually read a response to it, such as J. Ann Tickner's "Why Women Can't Run the World: International Politics According to Francis Fukuyama". If you can understand them, it should clear up a few issues as to your biological argument.

I think you mean 'wordy'.

I defer to these articles because they are experts in their fields, and have far more knowledge in these subjects than we would ever have. It's called researching and knowing what you're talking about. I'm not going to regurgitate their opinions, I expect you to do this crazy thing called educating yourself on a subject, because women's issues differ all around this country, if you didn't realize that already. And just so you know, I have lived in this world, as a woman, in Washington D.C. and Boston, working competitive jobs that are very challenging. It may be surprising to you, but many of these corporations are run by women. I'm the sheltered one here? I would love to know your background. But in response to the comments about your mother: I'm sorry that you were raised by a weak person whose aspirations stop in a remedial position, but in your generalization you fail to see the fact that she is becoming an exception to the rule. It's her choice not to advance in her own career, and that's why she stays where she is. Women aren't going out in the world today wasting their degrees, they're advancing up the corporate chain just as quickly as anyone else, and before you say anything, not because of affirmative action. I don't know if you've looked around lately, but it's the 21st century and more women are getting college degrees than men. Look up the statistics. I assure you that they aren't majoring in "housewife." And just so you realize, since you obviously haven't studied psychology or sociology, but the average American has the tendency to align with societal standards, such as men being the lead during courting. That isn't saying women are incapable of doing so, it just so happens that it is what is common of our culture. It could just as easily be the other way around. If you were to actually research the history of gender issues, you'd realize that it started when women didn't work, and therefore had to be taken out to dinner. As society progresses and advances, such as in the acceleration of the employment of women, this is changing. And your examples taken from nature show a weak correlation as no one can clearly define human nature, and we've evolved quite a bit from fish. And just so you know, I'm done responding to this thread. If you aren't even going to do any research to back up what you say, then stop shopping around your opinion. I'm graduating a top 50 college with a degree in International Relations, and a minor in Gender Studies and German. I assure you that I will be a leader, and that the thousands of other strong women around me will be doing so as well. Open your eyes, it's not 1950. Stop hiding behind excuses of "experience", because all you are doing is propagating generalizations you've made on your own in the little that you've seen in your life, and this lends nothing to your credibility.

It still doesn't make sense. In the same way it is incorrect to say "There is fewer water in this bucket than in that bucket.", it is also incorrect to say "We need less women leaders." or whatever he said. I'm too lazy to scroll.

No fair; only contempt for men is sanctioned by society! You're not allowed to criticize the matriarchy, only the patriarchy can be criticized!

if you were the president of Harvard University and said what you just said, you would have to resign form your job (and I agree with what you said).

Hey, being a politician isn't like being a cheerleader or a critic. It's hard work. It is easier to sit at the sidelines to cheer or boo than it is to get up in front of everyone and have your ideas be fodder for the masses to criticize openly. I agree with you 100%, but i do not see a long line of those minorities waiting to become leaders and I am greatly disappointed in them for that.
