"Make a playlist, burn the playlist, import the burnt CD into iTunes, tada no more DRM."Only problem with is, you are recompressing audio that has already been compressed using a lossy compression scheme.
I don't believe in buying music online. My online music is free. If I like the band, I'll go buy the actual CD that I can hold and covet. I have a nice CD collection. That being said, I've only bought one song from Itunes ever (Glassjaw - Oxycodone), and that's only because it's a B-side not available on any album. Plus it's my favorite band, so I wanted to give them their 99 cents, whatever. I burnt the song to a CD-R, ripped the song into a nice 192kbps mp3, and I'm done with Itunes. 99 cents well spent. But I think that's the real thing that should be focused on for Itunes -- B-sides, and rarities. Then you can turn the songs into mp3's after burning them, and what does it matter? It seems like the DRM doesn't effect anyone.

This just points to the article in last weekend's Wall Street Journal. It was a nice story but didn't really say much about Jon's future plans other than a quote: "when I'm in the U.S., I will take great care not to break any U.S. law."The Apple quote referred to his past work on circumventing Fairplay in itunes music downloads.
linsys, good idea. There's too mutch non-interesting stories that show up on the front page. I have google customized page set up to show Digg headlines (the last 5). I wan't those five headlines to be the most interesting. There should be some kind of weight balancing system where I am only shown stories with or without a certain word in them.... oh and DVD Jon can DVD suck it ...

A story that he's targeting Apple? How about we wait and do a story if he actually cracks something.

It's a great story but you win at making annoyingly misleading titles to get attention.
