Well, using religon as a shield can be shady as people always seem to look for perfection when someone claims something like that. I disagree that taxpayer money was wasted he declined one way and was attacked in that he was going to be forced so the public defender made defense for civil rights. However he probably just did it to "stick it to the man" lol..
Hooray for yet another example of discrimination based on religion. If I were to object to having my blood taken because I didn't like needles I doubt a court would have given me the same decision.
"Not really the core of the story here, but I can't help but wonder what legal value there is in obtaining DNA from a hacker? It's not like they are going to leave spit, blood, or hair on some firewall they just circumvented or account they just cracked. Donning my tin-foil hat, I note that recent technologies make it extremely easy to duplicate DNA into mass quantities. This is how they can now test DNA found in fingerprints -- they only need a single cell. 1. Take a sample, replicate a decent quantity of DNA, add it to some fake body fluids.2. Deposit at the crime scene of your choice.3. Wait for conviction of innocent person4. ?5. Profit!

I also like this article because the government lost. I'm a Christian, Lamo knew what he was doing, he's a clever guy.
