How interesting. I imagine that could be prevented if you listened to this at the recommended volume -- rather quiet. They suggest the binaural beats be barely audible over whatever background noise you choose.I haven't been able to find any information that agrees with you, but I won't say I don't believe you at all. Very interesting at any rate.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say: we can't change or we shouldn't change for that matter . . . All I'm saying is the word hack seems a little out of place here and it does my head in when I see these overrated phenomena day in day out.
Indeed, I predicted that 'hack' was a suitable buzzword on this site to generate more interest then normal. This isn't something that's instant gratification, but it does have an effect.
This program is great! Check out this website for some free binaural beat mp3's:www.healingbeats.comThere is also a forum that has SBaGen tutorials www.healingbeats.com/forum
In my experience Binaural Beats are extremely powerful tools, so long as you are willing to give them a try. there is a free download if you register here: http://www.brainzapr.com. They also have a pocketpc version of the software and discussion forums.

Out of tune notes create "beats." This program creates "beats." It is no coincidence that both are called beats!

I think you might be interested in this introductory video to binaural beats, what they are, how you can produce them, and how you can use them for learning, memorizing or relaxation. The video actually is a guided tour with audio experiements.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCfUbFjin00And this is a video with binaural beats at the Alpha and Delta range, very relaxing background music and sync-visuals. Watch it when you feel stressed and you'll feel refreshed and calm.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAOd6UZo7mU
