lifehacker.com — LifeHacker Adam Pash has a great guide to rip DVDs so that you can watch them skip-free once you have it on your hard drive. It is also a great way to archive your video collection, and be able to watch them even when they great scratched or lost.

pardon the ignorance but isn't dvdshrink discontinuing development? - yeah, it still works for many titles, but shouldn't a guide like this continue with some other fairly low intensity DVD ripping software (such as SmartRipper and others?)

The video made no sense at all. it was too blurry to read anything and it really had no instructions. Why did it need a loud soundtrack too. hell why was it even done as a video?

All 1 click rips suck, they look so washy/pixelated at times. Please do your selves a favor and visit www.doom9.org and read the Quality over Speed guides to make quality backups. DVD-RB + CCE FTW!!!

Duh.. so you can rip out certain .VOBs that have FBI warning, or even extras you don't want. Then you can run it in DVDShrink if you want to for better quality. You can also edit the menu and its buttons to not go to the deleted options. But of course I would just use DVDDecrypter to rip the files in the first place.

ok so this dvd shrinker is working great for me btu theres a probalem trying to convert the selection all into a .vid for my ipod its wacky!! need new one or some help
