p2pnet.net — California attorney general Bill Lockyer says he's settled with Hewlett-Packard over the spying scandal to the tune of $14.5 million. The vast bulk of the money, $13.5 million, will go towards creating a "privacy and piracy" treasure chest, "to help state and local law enforcement fight privacy and intellectual property violations".
