And how long are Xboys going to hold on to the fact that the PS3 was overly expensive on release. Sony dropped the price of the PS3 to $399, which was cheaper then the Xbox360 on its release, and they sold 5 million units in 3 months. PS3 is starting to outsell the Xbox360 now, and largely due to its support for Blu-ray is attacting buyers. I am all with you about how ridiculously priced the PS3 was on release, but its 14 months later and the PS3 is selling like hotcakes now and will seriously hurt Microsoft's bottom line in the next 2 years. This all because Sony actually thought about the future and not worried about trying to dominate the market by forcing a buggy console with few new features to market first.

I haven't purchased a single movie in years waiting for one of these formats to die but until all the retailers stop getting new movies in x format I'll hold off a little more.

Wait I need to explain-- you can't distinguish between 1080p and 4k on something as small as a 60 inch tv. You need a really big tv, like I'm talking at least 100 inches and you would have to sit right in front of it. Just based on the ability to resolve the image, 4k is wasted on anything short of an actual theater. Going past 1080p is useless for all but a very few, very wealthy videophiles.
