Uf... As a humble long time photographer I have to say I cringed a bit when seeing those shots. There's a balance between esthetic and cool, and the author of these pics didn't hit in between there at all. Over-processed to the max. Seems like he bought a new filter for Photoshop and went overboard.
lesson learned.. never click on a link where the lead in is 'Another very good HDR photographer'.. man that makes the airplane graveyard set look fantastic in comparison.. now i need to clean up my lunch.
Wtf is with all these misconceptions of HDR. Yes the term HDR is used in video games but is also used in photography. Before there were even video games "Dynamic Range" was a term used to describe the amount of detail one could capture in a single frame. This was limited by the type of film you were using now its limited by the sensor. So HIGH dynamic range means combining images into a single image to form a large DYNAMIC range. There are also many other uses for the term so do some research and Stop posting misinformation!

Like in HL2 HDR Demo, when you just come out of the dark room, you get blinded. Same thing in CS:S too.
