HBO does generally not mind longer gaps between seasons. Besides, the show continuing far enough for this to become an issue is a problem I would love having.
The more I think about it, the more I think GRRM is just f**king with us and has had Dance with Dragons done for some time. He's just waiting for either the series to come out or he's milking our frustrations for all its worth.
I JUST finished this book last week completely randomly (just got burnt out on Salvatore I guess and wanted to try something new). Sweet that they're trying this as a series!!
