@pilgrim3970I didn't see any conservatives speak out against Bush destroying the Fourth Amendment with his warrantless wiretapping, nor the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment with his Faith-Based funding.It looks like it's all about interpretation. The Second Amendment doesn't say anything about what limitations the Government can or cannot place on weapon ownership, so what is illegal about restricting assault weapons and concealed weapons? It depends on who you ask.

The US has a relatively high homicide rate of about 7.1 per 100,000, (UK is about 1.6, Germany 1.6, Australia 1.6), which brings with it a high proportion of gun incidents (just under 40% of all homicides). The US has a very high level of school shooting incidents too. These are horrible facts.I wouldn't mind everyone trying out not having guns for a while, see if it makes any difference. to ronaldinho...You're turning a scared confused human being (burglar) into a monster already. It's a pretty high-pressure situation, which I'd rather didn't have guns in the equation. If guns don't even factor... e.g. if no one has one, they're not part of everyday life, you don't even think about the possibility, crimes are commited without guns, then the worst case scenario can never be a shooting. They can only have such a great hold of power over you if they have a gun. If guns don't factor, robberies will stay as just that... robberies.We get burgled round 'ere, just like anywhere else. We get mugged round 'ere, people fight in the streets on match days and on Friday nights, but guns are so rare. Killings are so rare. They happen, but it's not between strangers. Not robbers or muggers or burglars. The issue of rape is the only convincing arguement for me, but only 2% of rapes are by complete strangers.There are scumbags in every country, but I'm glad most of the scumbags in the UK don't have guns. Don't you all wish the US was like that?

I just got finished reporting the terrible accident where I was moving all my guns by boat and we capsized and ALL MY GUNS were LOST and now I HAVE NO guns when the Obama Volunteer Civilian Security Force come to my home to look for the guns I USED TO HAVE but have now all been LOST in the lake. And the 28K rounds of 7.62 & 5.56 Nato and 7.62x39 I had saved up.But, I'm so traumatized by the experience that I'm not sure what lake it was.Honest. I'm telling the truth just like the Dear Leader is when he says he's not going to come for the guns I no longer have.Of course, he's not speaking for Pelosi, Schummer & Kennedy...
