huffingtonpost.com — Edward Perkovic said Poplawski, his best friend, feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and "didn't like our rights being infringed upon." Another longtime friend, Aaron Vire, said Poplawski feared that President Barack Obama was going to take away his rights, though he said he "wasn't violently against Obama."

It is a liberal con-game to place blame on anyone except the sad individual who committed these acts. Personal responsibility not the political blame-game wins in this situation.

Posted on another thread:The following is a list of current/pending legislation (non-conclusive), both state and federal:New YorkAssembly Bill 1093, sponsored by Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-88), would impose new requirements on firearm retailers and require that they obtain insurance to cover criminal acts committed after the legal sale of a firearm. The companion bill to AB 1093, is Senate Bill 1715, sponsored by State Senator Eric Schneiderman (D-31).Assembly Bill 1326, sponsored by Assemblyman Steve Englebright (D-4), would mandate handguns be equipped with technology which would prevent them from being operated by children.Assembly Bill 2881, sponsored by State Assemblyman David Koon (D-135), would ban the possession and use of "frangible" ammunition. The companion bill for AB 2881 is Senate Bill 2379, sponsored by State Senator Frank Padavan (R-11).Assembly Bill 2882, sponsored by State Assemblyman David Koon (D-135) would provide for the submission of expended projectiles and shell casings and guns to the state police pistol and revolver ballistic identification electronic databankAssembly Bill 5844, sponsored by State Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg (D-20), would enact the "children's weapon accident prevention act" and creates crimes of failure to store a weapon safely and negligent storage. The companion bill for AB 5844 is Senate Bill 3098, sponsored by State Senator Eric Schneiderman (D-31).Assembly Bill 7183, sponsored by State Assemblyman Steve Englebright (D-4), prohibits the possession of concealed firearms in any park, campground or other recreation area.ArkansasOn Thursday, April 2, House Bill 1623, was gutted by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Instead of granting complete confidentiality, if passed HB 1623 will only prevent the addresses of permitees, while access to the names and zips codes of Right-to-Carry permit holders will still remain vulnerable.MaineLD814, sponsored by State Representative Anna Blodgett (D-56), requires that a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check be performed by a federally licensed gun dealer prior to the sale or transfer of a firearm at a gun show.LD985, introduced by State Senator Nancy Sullivan (D-4) would require that a federally licensed firearms dealer facilitate all sales, transfers, and loans of firearms. This would mean that you would have to pass a background check before borrowing a gun to go hunting or target shooting. Dealers could subject these transactions to a fee that cannot exceed $10.MarylandSB267 and SB268 require the subject of a final or temporary protective order to surrender his or her firearms to law enforcement until the order expires. Unlike federal law, which allows a person to find other places to dispose of his firearms while an order is in effect, these bills would require law enforcement to seize someone’s firearms, even if the subject of the order had no opportunity to participate in the hearing.CaliforniaAssembly Bill 962, sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.Senate Bill 697, authored by State Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D-7), will be considered in the Senate Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, April 28. SB697 would prohibit the sale of handguns other than "owner-authorized (or “smart”) handguns" -- that is, handguns with a permanent, programmable biometric feature that renders the firearm useless unless activated by the authorized user. No proven, viable handgun of this type has ever been developed. The bill would require the California Attorney General to report to the Governor and Legislature on the availability of owner-authorized handguns; once the Attorney General finds that these guns are available, only “owner-authorized” handguns could be approved for sale in California.FederalHR257 1/7/2009 - (Sheila Jackson-Lee (D,TX-18) Child Gun Safety and Gun Access Prevention Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention ActHR256 1/7/2009 - (Sheila Jackson-Lee (D,TX-18) David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 or David's Law - Amends the federal criminal code to impose penalties for willfully causing bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive device, attempting to cause such injury, whether or not acting under color of law, because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability of any personHR45 1/6/2009 - (Bobby Rush (D,IL-1) Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act or a state system certified under this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked. Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements.I'll also direct your attention to http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/urban_policy/ for Obama's stated position on gun control.

Just because some psycho goes out and rapes a bunch of women, does that mean that we should go out and be castrated?Just because this psycho did what he did doesn't mean that I'll ever give up my guns.

I'll admit that was a ver poorly thought out comment, however, I have a reason to be suspicious. There are certain individuals who are tortured by "law enforcement" by different means including stalking, harassment with directed energy weapons (please don't tell me they don't exist), and worse.Jiverly Wong, for example wrote in his suicide note that he was experiencing exactly this, and even that his house had been broken into by police while he was sleeping.I expect most of you to brush this comment off, and view this phenomena as bulls**t, but if you take the time to look, the information is there. These people are referred to as 'targeted individuals.' I expect more information to come out which will substantiate my position beyond the words of this one killer as time goes on, and we shall certainly see.

You people are so ignorant. It is definitely a shame what happened but you wanna blame everybody but the man that pulled the trigger.how many time do us "gun nuts" have to say it, all a gun ban would do is take the guns away from the people who follow the law.I can only think of one case(and i'm not saying it is the only one) in which assault rifles were used in a violent crime. That Goddamn Hollywood bank robbery. And those weapons weren't legal for those men to own.Cops get shot all the time but since this guy had some problems and didn't want to lose his guns the media jumps all over it.I carry a gun every day and i do it to protect myself, but more so the people around me, friend or stranger ,from wackos like the one being discussed. i have no desire to shoot anyone and hope i never have to but whether i have my gun or am not allowed to carry it, criminals will always find ways to get weapons. And if you think Obama isn't planning on f**king with our gun rights your dead wrong. He's said a lot of things which are turning out to be bulls**t. I think if he didn't have teleprompters telling him what to say then this country wouldn't be so smitten. I am definitely NOT a republican neither am i a democrat. I think presidents are puppets and nothing more, and if a national disarmament would benefit those who pull the strings then it will happen.People in this country need to wake up and stop having our minds clouded by McDonald's and reality TV.If they scare us enough we consume whatever it takes to cull that fear. Staged terrorist attacks, and false flag situations, the war on terror, all so the rich get richer and the poor spend more money. Its such a shame that we are all so naive. I know i got a little off subject but every comment was f**k Rush and right wing wackos, f**k people who want to keep their right to arms.Nobody knows what the future holds and we very may well need our gun's. people say that they expect that our police force will protect them. That is so ridiculous,we have had a police force for hundreds of years, yet how many people are murdered everyday. It takes one second to take somebody's life so even if police could be at your side in ten seconds, that is nine seconds too late. Protect yourselves, because you can't depend on someone else to protect you at all times.Thats it.
