What is really amazing about this THR Run DMC story is that Russell Simmons, Run and Darryl had to learn about it by reading the trades like everyone else in Hollywood. Russell was upset that Cheo even took a pitch meeting without calling him first. Why Cheo, Dallas Jackson or Bill Adler would think that they just could start producing a Run DMC bio film without first securing Russell and Run DMC's approval and option rights is beyond dumb. Just having book rights to Tougher Than Leather does not mean they could get Def Jam to put any Run DMC songs in their film. Unless Russell, Run DMC and are broken off in a big way and highly involved then this film is going to be DOA...Money out.
