And when the price of fuel via OPEC goes back up to $4/gallon, plus the new government tax, then you have people who simply can't afford to get to work.There are two sides to raising a tax. Yes you get more revenue and you really hurt some people in the process. Gas taxes hurt the poor pretty badly. Take for instance some of the poorer people in my area. They can't afford a new car and they can't afford to move. How do you propose they get to work?There isn't public transportation within a 30mi radius and there never will be.

GM and Ford need a massive honest PR campaign for people to have faith in them again. I would like to see stories about GM employees talking about being proud to work for them and actually mean it.

There are some good-looking vehicles there. It's just a shame none of them were designed with 6-foot-5 men in mind. I'm sure Hummer will come along to save the day.
