nytimes.com — "As upheld in a 2-to-1 decision, companies like Vonage and Skype would have to open up to authorized government intrusion, the same as any landline phone provider -- private networks (like those on college campuses), however, will theoretically remain legally secure from the wiretaps."

excuse me for asking but what is the big deal about this? if you have nothing to hide then you shouldn't be against it. If your not planning to bomb a mall or hijack a plane what is there to be afraid of? i doubt the government is going to go through your e-mails and listen to your phone calls so they can comment about your personal life. if u have nothing to hide stop complaining and let the government attempt to do their job.

@andyengle2Terrorism is a method, not a country. The US government -- all governments -- will be fighting violent groups who use "terror" to get their way. Do you understand that? It is a permanent fight, from now until civilization end, because with modern technology small groups of people can cause expotential harm. Any allowances we make now in regards to our freedom and society are permanent -- this is not like rationing meals for WW2 -- and your children, and childrens children, will be less free as Americans for it. Have you ever heard of J. Edgar Hoover? Blind faith in the powerful men who control the police forces of America is......foolish of you. Go to your room and review your history books. But please, continue calling people "sissys" and cheering for the Good Guys like you are watching a game on TV. Prove yourself to be as short-sighted as most of the people in America.

"if you have nothing to hide then you shouldn't be against it."you are an idiot, freedom is what made this country what it is today and differentiates itself from 3rd world countries. Notice how the majority of all the civilized countries have freedom and democracy as opposed to a dictatorship...funny ain't it

why dont you let the gov't strip search you and give you a full cavity search every 30 minutes, you have nothing to hide right?

To be honest I haven't paid much attention to the NSA wiretapping thing since I don't live in the US, but if they're going to wiretap illegally then they will wiretap illegally on any kind of phone connection regardless of this law.

@karamba_kid:Ahh, you sound like a typical brainwashed liberal. You resort to the name-calling, and the same old arguments that you on the left love to throw at us so often. What rights have you lost, and how have they impacted your life!? You still seem to be posting on a public forum just fine, without the "gestapo" coming to arrest you, so I'm guessing you've lost none of your rights. As for your cheap shot against Fox News, perhaps you're the one who should tune in to Fox News to learn the truth about what the government wiretapping program is all about, and skip getting your mind fed with the propagansist crap that is so abundant on this site and others like it by those who so hate this administration. And how can you say it's a "Constitutional wrong-doing"?! It's Constitutional for the President (and the entire government) to do what they can to *defend* this country. As I said before, I hightly doubt they would want to spy on your patheticly boring life without some reason to do so.
