thinkprogress.org — This morning on NBC, former Vice President Al Gore urged President Bush “to try to separate out the personal issues of being blamed in history for this mistake and instead recognize it’s not about him. It’s about our country and we all have to find a way to get our troops home and to prevent a regional conflagration there.”

ok, if we already had snactions in place, if our inspectors had already been tossed out of Iraq, If Clinton had already threatend to invade Iraq already in 99/2000 and ordered numerous airstrikes to enfore resolutions and no fly zones and to end saddams paid for terrorism in Israel... and none of that was working when he made this statement(s), what do you think he meant if not war?Settling it over a game of Yahtzee?

@VolatileWhimseyWhen he says he took initiative in creating the Internet, he means he spearheaded the initiative to provide funding to make the Arpanet publicly available. Internet =/= Arpanet. Arpanet was exclusively used by ARPA (now DARPA.) The Internet is public. Thus, the Internet was created (from the Arpanet) thanks to funding allocated by Al Gore's initiative.

I never stated that Iraq had something to do with 9/11, so that is not a valid rebuttal to my statement. Al Qaedawould love to have Iraq's oil to fund their jihad. You havenot been following what the Ayatollah's front man has beensaying. He threatens Israel, and today in the press, hethreatens everyone in the entire world who do not believe in his god. It would not be as threatening if it weren't for his country's budding nuclear capability, and it's insane religious beliefs.

Christ, the internet started out as a network of universities and gov agencies, it grew and funding was asked for it. The gentleman that actually created the internet finally got recognition several years ago.. They started the term internet before Gore was ever elected... Arghfreaking cattle.

You know, it's not even about the U.S. I mean, it is to a small extent. But the real tragedy are the tens of thousands of moms and dads and babies getting incinerated or cut down or maimed because they woke up Iraqi. If seven cops and 5,000 Oaklahomans died in the capture of Tim McVeigh, I'd say it's about neither the President nore the cops, but the Oaklahomans.

Volatile:>Look, Bush by no means is a perfect president.. And I'll even go as far as to say he isn't the sharpest tack in the bunch. But neither are the majority of the cattle that posts on digg.com or even lives in this country. And they shouldn't be president either. You're really being nice to Bush by not describing him as a walking, talking clusterf**k of a catastrophe.

So Eisenhower sends the first "advisors" to Vietnam, but Kennedy is the one who "started" it?

Someone who says "it isn't about you" shouldn't have a whole movie on the environment that is all about him.
