Bill Gates has basically brought new meaning to the word "philanthropy", donating more money to charity than any one person probably in the history of the world. This leads me to believe that if it were up to him, he would probably do what is asked of him here. But I am sure there is a board of directors and shareholders that he has to answer to. That is why I consider it pretty rude of gorbachev to ask this of him, when I am sure he must have realized that.
