Intel donated a lot of hardware to google back in the startup days. I'm assuming they are returning the favor. Intel makes some pretty power efficient chips too.
I actually look forward to battery replacement time, we've got three 500KW UPSes at our D/C, and the beefy batteries make for great car jump-starters and solar storage.
