I tried every one of the 3D sample and can't wait to see more of this on the web, about time!

I could not believe it when I found out that was real. It's definitely not the preferred way, but I was tickled when I found out that Hollywood computer bulls**t was a little more true than I thought. It's called FSN, File System Navigator and that is an open source port if anyone is interested in the cheesy goodness.

Great, now I gotta get that.

This is not for developers to create 3D web sites, it is for developers who want to create 3D elements on their sites (i.e. Google Earth in a browser, where only the 3D globe would use this system and the rest would be either 2D Canvas or pure HTML/CSS)

Yes, some are open and some are backed by big companies, but as far as I know, only O3D has all the factors I mentioned.

Browser based games are going to a whole new level with this.

Like VRML was about 13 years ago? I think it turned out to NOT be the next logical step in web design. CSS and JavaScript were the next step. People don't want to fly around the internet. They want to click something and get there immediately.
