blog.wired.com — (Google people) are providing a 3TB drive array (Linux RAID5). The array is provided in “suitcase” and shipped to anyone who wants to send they data to Google. Anyone interested gives Google the file tree, and they SLURP the data off the drive. I believe they can extend this to a larger array (my memory says 20TB).

Just for comparison 1TB drives are as low as $250 now in retail stores and you can get multi drive enclosures for under $100.

Err... According to the article, it was discussed/previewed last year but hasn't actually been started yet - and it's initial launch date was this month, which has been put back. Can you provide some evidence which counters the article rather than just saying 'they've been doing this for over a year now'?
