boingboing.net — Google's "Health Advertising Team" is trying to sell the health industry on buying ads to be shown opposite searches for "Sicko." The idea is to counter Michael Moore's indictment of the health industry's grip on American society by running ads over search results for Sicko.

Why- you think Live.com is going to ban HMOs from bidding on "Sicko"-related search terms?

They are calling attention to the issue. Shame on them for making people think.

You guys obviously haven't seen the movie yet. Do yourselves a favor and do so, I was skeptical also before but I changed my tune.

advertising is a very democratic and effective way to participate in a public dialogue.Just like sending dozens of lobbyists to Washington is?

I've been a supporter of Google for years. If they pull this crap off, I'm moving to Ask.com and deleting my OSS projects on Google.

Digg admins have now removed around 70 messages in this thread, and at least 6 of mine personally.Remember the last time this happened? The DVD crack key fiasco. The only question is this- nothing anyone said in THIS thread was illegal. The only reason messages are being deleted is because Google executives called Digg and ordered them to remove these posts. Why? Because Digg gets 100% of its revenue from Google and can be put out of business overnight if they don't do everything Google tells them to.Digg, you have totally lost all credibility.Kevin, you should be ashamed.
