blogs.zdnet.com — "Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, believes that when he is listening to the radio in his car, radio ads should personally address him about his needs. For example, while driving past a clothing store, a radio ad should remind Eric that he needs a pair of pants and instruct him to turn left at the upcoming clothing store."

Can't he just use his mind, and remember what he needs -- or how about writing it down.

I don't get all the negativity. Eventually all forms of advertising will be like this. I would rather here relevant, decent, non abusive ads for say running shoes when I near an athletic shoe store than be bombarded by the awful nonsense that's on traditional radio and TV. In the end it's beneficial to all groups, the advertiser, purchaser and the company in between (Google). Regardless of how Orwellian it appears, technology is headed that way. Don't forget you can always just choose not to use the service

Not many people would want it, but a lot of people would accept it in exchange for free Wifi for instance. I'd like to see a system where you buy a Google GPS device (for $300-$500) with a LCD display and free Wifi, EVDO, or EGDE connection which downloads the latest map, directions, traffic, construction, weather and gives this connection for free by showing you advertisments for a business you're just about to drive by.

I always try to negelect ads anyway.Even they come up with such intrusive methods to gain attention, I will just need to focus more on disregarding them.
