engadget.com — Google today unveiled Maps Navigation (beta, of course), an extremely upgraded version of its current Maps software that'll be free and, from what we understand, available by default on all Android 2.0 devices.

TomTom allows its users to update and upload their map changes that you share with all other TomTom users.

This would explain why my house address has mysteriously moved to the other side of the neighborhood.

How are they crushing MS? On the web services and mobile phone front yeah, but that's about it.

Right now, the iPhone is pretty much entrenched. To beat the iPhone, Droid is going to have to be *much* better. Easier, better service, cheaper, better apps, the works. Comparable isn't going to cut it. Free navigation is nice, but it had better be damned easy to use or it will be pretty much worthless. The ease of use thing is key, if it's clunky to use most people aren't going to give it a second look. That's what kills most up-and-coming iPod/iPhone killers - the BlackBerry Storm comes to mind. My mom figured out the iPhone in about two minutes without looking at a manual, and she can barely figure out a new remote control./ Uses the cheapest cell phone Samsung makes// Could give a crap about owning the iPhone or the Droid

No, it won't, but I've never had a dead spot with VZW.
