simple idea: why not fake "always on" instead of try to truly implement it?The talk application goes to a webpage where you chat. Why not preload that webpage with the last dozen or so communications. If someone sent you something when you were offline, just populate the page with those messages. A flag on the front contacts list can show you when there's a new message waiting that you haven't read yet. Finally, a push even could be used to indicate a new message is waiting. As a low hanging fruit, that push event could just be an email sent to your account.Implementing something like this means that you don't have to stay on that one webpage or in the application and that the iphone doesn't have to continually update...
