Google should stick to what they do best. Microsoft often makes the mistake of trying to get a piece of every single pie....Google shouldn't make the same mistake, as it often just ends up with lots of mediocre offerings (Gtalk anyone?)
I dont know, I'm getting rid of mine. Its slow and has a terrible memory leak. And its super bulky. Yes I have gone to xda, I'm actually on my fourth rom (LVSW) and they all suck.
Lets say TOMORROW they start charging for search, and mail...what do you think would happen? I'd imagine ALL major corporations would sign up with them (for at least the search part). I for one would most likely pay for my gmail account.
Actually, I think it would be safe to say that google has a monopoly on the (good) search engine business. Or at least mindshare in the general public. No one says "Let me Yahoo! that" or "Let me MS Live Search that."

LOL, you are giving google way too much credit my friend...

It provides nothing new in an already flooded market of IM networks/clients. This is what companies like google need to avoid.
