"But after all, how they have to learn and what they have to do with learned information, etc. is still coded by humans. We can never expect that they can make decisions on their own. I mean really on their own."Do we make decisions "on our own"? What does that even mean? After all, how we have to learn and what we have to do with learned information, etc. is still coded by our genes.Do you see some essential difference between man and machine? Is there objective evidence for such a differennce?

More proof that the vast majority of Diggers are idiots.Roger Penrose has written extensively about why the human brain is not reducible to a computer. This entire thread and NOBODY posts about Godel's theorem.Amazing.

"Gödel's Theorem has been used to argue that a computer can never be as smart as a human being because the extent of its knowledge is limited by a fixed set of axioms, whereas people can discover unexpected truths"Of course "has been used to argue" doesn't imply with validity.Unexpected truths have been found working off fixed sets of axioms. Unexpected mathematical truths have even been found by computers.Furthermore, there is no evidence that the ability of people to discover such truths is not limited in the way Godel's theorem says a formal system must be limited.

Meaningless hyperbole. "we've got a few people working on solving maths and it's not as far away as you might think".
