I think non-geeks who use FB and don't fully understand web community dynamics will freak. I think one of the main reasons FB took off is the promise of data privacy.
wasn't there a digg article on the front page the other day titled something like "Why facebook won't join the open data movement."looks like they were wrong.
as a non-computer-geek kind of geek, i only first heard about the idea of user-centric identity management about two weeks ago - but i instantly fell in love - if data portability takes hold - maybe it would push identity management forward too? Or maybe i live in my own special little utopia...
