Miglia has something similar. Kind of a DVR that fits neatly under the base of a mac mini. I was thinking of getting one a few weeks back. Glad I didn't. I'll have to wait. IMO, with or without Google, Apple is definitely on a hot streak right now! Go Steve!!!!
It's all about Google's massive distribution and redundancy network... if Apple's movie service takes off they are going to need Google's expertise and infrastructure, including all the "dark fiber" Google owns. Apple can't be beholden to the local broadband providers who are sure to balk when the movie service starts eating up bandwidth. They are taking a lesson from Skype.
