This makes sense, if you know that a lot of younger kids aren't watching that much online video. Marketers need a way to get to them, wherever they are. Shelly Palmer saw a Google presentation, which shed a lot of light on the Adscape purchase:http://advancedmediacommittee.typepad.com/emmyadvancedmedia/2007/03/googles_idea_of.htmlKrissy

I don't mind ads in my video games as long as I'm not driving down the streets in GTA when I look to the right and my gaze sets upon a giant billboard reading: "SHOOT THE FART BUTTON!".

Google is a marketing / advertising company just like AOL was, and is. I give Google about 3 - 5 years before they start to annoy everyone and end up with everyone hating them. It's inevitable for a public company based around advertising.

We'd better be getting cheaper games if they're being funded by multiple companies that advertise in games that I buy. If game companies are charging $60 a pop AND getting revenue from advertisers I say that we're getting screwed.

Ads in games is like ad in a tv show. I actually think that if done right could be good for the gaming world. Only time will tell.

Ads ruined watching TV live, and now they will ruin gaming, what will be next I wonder.I guess we'll have to pay a premium next to play ad-free.
