Its actually using the proximity sensor!"Not that I disagree (or know really), which sensor they are using, but your description would fit for a proximity sensor or a motion sensor. Moving your hand in front of the sensor would be motion. I don't have the iPhone or even know a whole lot about it, so maybe you are talking about motion sensor as in sensing self (iPhone) movement as opposed to external (your hand) movement.
Rules are rules but never the less. It's not like google violated the rules to "compromise the integrity" of the iphone..I'm ok with this.And yes it's google they are going to do whatever the hell they want.
